a new year...

so it's the beginning of the next season - are you ready?

keep on the lookout for some news from Anne-Marie & I in regards to helping us launch this new alumni group. In the next few weeks, we'll be doing some planning and talking with the committee for the Head of the Lanier (october 15th @ Lake Lanier) and we may come asking for volunteers. we'll let you know more when we do ourselves.

the first meeting for the curious is today. let's hope we get some new recruits.

also, there is a new novice women's coach. his name is Ross. (he's taking my place, as I am moving on...) i'll try and get a bio from him soon to let you know all about him.

there's another boat with GT Alumni going to the Charles this year. a lightweight 4+ with Shelly Holdren, Beth Burnham Goldstein, Anne-Marie Richards, Jenny Yusin (UCSB alum & old Emory coach), and me. We'll be rowing through the Atlanta Rowing Club. Other boats entered so far are Joshua Vose in the Champ Single and Justin Steigerwalt in the Lightweight Single. Any others??

any other updates?

Drink4Jordan - National Team Drink-off

Drink4Jordan - National Team Drink-off
From: that Stiv Guy & Slim
Location: The Mansion (slim's pad)
When: Saturday, August 13, 6:00pm - Sunday, August 14, 3:00am

Jordan Smith has made the US Rowing National Team and will be going to Japan in 1 month. Unfortunately, he's a broke rower (like all of us once were/are). He needs our help raising $4411 for his travel.

Therefore, we are hosting a Drink for Jordan Party / National Team Drink-off. $10/head covers all the cold beer you can down and hamburgers/hotdogs you can eat. The entire $10 will go to Jordan (we are donating the beer and food).

There will be a Bito Prize for the most drunk, and a Mucha Prize for the most hotdogs consumed.

Even if you don't know Jordan - who cares! It'll be a crazy party.
Contact Slim.
