Primal Quest Expedition Adventure Race
June 25 - July 4
I'm getting ready to head out to participate in the Primal Quest Adventure race again this year. Some of you may remember I did this race in 2004 when it was in the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington. This year it is in the heat of the desert of Southern Utah near Moab! Quite a difference in climates to be sure! For those of you who are not familiar with Primal Quest, it is 5-10 day non-stop, multisport race. If you remember the Eco-Challenge, this race is on par with that. We will cover over 400 miles doing such things as trekking (hiking), mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, riverboarding, ascending and rappelling ropes, canyoneering, and mountaineering. All the while we have to navigate ourselves through the race from point to point. All the outdoor activities that I love!!! I'd like to invite you to follow me and my team (Team McKinley) as we embark upon our journey. All the teams will be carrying GPS transmitters and the data is uploaded to the website so that you can see where all the teams are on the course. It really is very cool! Once the race starts on June 25, you'll be able to track our progress on the GPS Tracking page of the website. There is also a lot of other useful information on the website about the race.
