Ever Wanted to Donate to the GT Crew Team (and we don't mean money)?
CALLING ALL ALUMNI!!!
You may have donated some money from time to time to GT Crew. You may have donated an apartment to house rowers on the way to Dad Vails. You may have donated your thoughts when Spring Break time comes around, or you may have never donated a single thing to GT Crew since you last parted the Chattahoochee waters.
If you have been a huge supporter of GT Crew, or you just check this blog from time to time to see if any parties are coming up...here is your chance to give back to your most cherished college memories, and hang out with fellow alumni friends.
THE 2007 ATLANTA ERG SPRINTS
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 10TH.
Since 2005, this event has been run by Alumni.
With more than one experienced organizers this event is turning more into a "money-maker" for the team, and is letting the rowers focus on the gut-wrenching challenge at hand: a 2K erg test. Don't worry though...the rowers still do all the work at set-up and take-down.
Erg Sprints is bigger than you may have remembered and it is growing every year. The 2007, AES team is looking for more alumni help!
Anne-Marie Richards, Cassi Niemann, Beth and Craig Goldstein currently comprise the Atlanta Erg Sprint Organizational Team. Let us know if you would like to volunteer some time to help plan the Atlanta Erg Sprints. We have several areas we would like to improve on including:
- Advertising
- developing "hammer" awards
- finding vendors at the sprints
- developing a team "slide" race. Hook up 4 sets of slides so boats can race eachother
We also need some volunteer support the day of erg sprints (weigh-in's, registration, tech support, etc). If you would like to just donate a few hours on February 10th, we can find a place for you too!!
So E-mail Ree if you are interested in helping out. Feel free to just ask questions, or attend the first meeting to see if you are interested in joining our team. I'll post the first meeting time and place when it is determined.

We have a lot of fun, and it feels good to give back to the team in a way other than writing a check...you get to see all those warm, happy, appreciative faces of cute little rowers pulling the first of their seasons 2K's...
